Greetings Beloved! As we live in this Easter season, we continue to explore the ways the resurrection impacts our lives and the life of the church. This Sunday we will be talking about what it means to be “Abiding in Love.” On the surface it sounds easy enough, but the love God calls us to …
Services Sunday at 10:30 a.m. with Kid’s Church following the children’s moment
September to May: Classes Sunday at 9:30 a.m. for nursery, primary school, junior high (confirmation classes), and adults
We are a kid-friendly place. We know that kids don’t always sit still and are occasionally noisy, and that’s OK! We provide qualified, PA-cleared adults to watch younger children during our service in our safe children’s area, and school-age kids are welcome to leave after the children’s moment to participate in a structured kids’ church.
We have a program geared towards all ages.
For those interested in further Bible study, we meet every Sunday (September to May) at 9:30 a.m. Enter the church using the big red door off of the parking lot, and we’ll guide you from there.
Adults also meet Monday evenings from 6:30-7:30 p.m. for Bible study.
Church service starts at 10:30 a.m., but we suggest getting there a little early to grab a seat and chat with your pew-mates. Enter using the big double red doors at the front of the church. We are wheelchair accessible with both stairs and a ramp at our main entrance, as well as an accessible restroom down the hall from the sanctuary.
Once you enter the front doors a greeter will welcome you and give you a bulletin. Our bulletin contains everything you need to follow along the service, as well as dates for upcoming events and general information.
About 20 minutes into our service Pastor Dave gives a special children’s message, inviting all of the kids to come to the front of the sanctuary. Following the message, little ones under the age of 6 are welcome to go the nursery where our certified babysitter and church volunteer will entertain your kids (don’t worry, you can stay too, but we hope you’ll – eventually – be able to enjoy at least a half an hour kid-free). Kids ages 6 to 14 head downstairs for Kid’s Church for a kid-oriented service.
The United Church of Christ celebrates an open communion and everyone is welcome at Christ’s table.
We have communion once a month (plus certain special holidays). Everyone is welcome to partake in communion – even the kids! Our communion is usually served at the front of the church, where you will take a piece of bread and dip it into grape juice.
Pastor Dave began his ministry at Trinity in August of 2016. He graduated from the University of Pittsburgh – Greensburg in 1983 and from Lancaster Theological Seminary in 1995. Pastor Dave then served two churches in Iowa for 20 years. He grew up in Westmoreland County, graduated from Mt. Pleasant Area High School and worked in construction in and around Pittsburgh in the years between college and seminary. In many ways Pastor Dave thinks of coming to Trinity as coming home. Pastor Dave is excited to be part of the community and part of the Trinity congregation.
You may see him on his motorcycle, at the gym, or occasionally on a golf course.
